The Anglican Parish of Dubbo has been blessed to have celebrated with the Reverend Gloria Shipp and the Anglican Church of Australia, the first ordination of a First Nations Woman in Australia. Gloria has had a significant ministry in the life of the parish, even now that she resides in Nyngan, NSW.

Gloria has been the convenor of the weekly Elders group, or indigenous and non-indigenous ladies, who meet for craft, fellowship, faith and food. An annual Reconciliation Luncheon has been for many years, a valuable part of this ministry.
