The Anglican Parish of Dubbo has been blessed to have celebrated with the Reverend Gloria Shipp and the Anglican Church of Australia, the first ordination of a First Nations Woman in Australia. Gloria has had a significant ministry in the life of the parish, even now that she resides in Nyngan, NSW.
Gloria has been the convenor of the weekly Elders group, or indigenous and non-indigenous ladies, who meet for craft, fellowship, faith and food. An annual Reconciliation Luncheon has been for many years, a valuable part of this ministry. |
"Hope"Most recently the parish received the commissioned artwork "Hope", which was painted by First Nations artist Lizzy Stageman.

FlagpoleWith funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the parish upgraded the flagpole so that we can fly the National, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island flags.
