This generally occurs on the second Tuesday In Baptism the Church welcomes people into membership of the worshipping community.
Baptism is the commencement of new life, born again into fellowship with God.
Baptism is an act of commitment to God to be a part of God’s
church.
Requirements
Where the Baptism is of an infant, Parents and Godparents make promises to God on that child’s behalf.
It is therefore necessary that Parents (and Godparents if at all possible) should be prepared for these promises being made to God, so that they understand fully what they are promising.
This preparation will take place with the Parents (and if possible) Godparents.
Preparation will usually be conducted by the baptising Priest. The Priest looks forward to this opportunity to get to know you personally at the interview. This generally occurs on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm in the Church.
The First Step
The Holy Sacrament of Baptism is conducted by arrangement through the Parish Office for either Saturday evening during the 6pm Vigil Eucharist or during the Sunday morning Eucharists (8am and 10am) or at noon on the First and Third Sundays. The exact timing of the Baptism will be discussed during a meeting with the clergy.
You are most welcome to attend a service of Holy Communion and meet the Parish Family.
Godparents are required to be baptised members of a Christian church.
